Slimming down Sunday

I did it! I reached my first goal in this weight loss journey, to get under 100kg! I did it!
I have not been under 100kg since towards the end of my twin pregnancy. I tipped the scales and for approx 6 years I couldn't get back.

But I am here, back in the double digits and I hope and pray I NEVER go back!

The past two weeks have been really difficult ones and I know I haven't done half as good as I could, and my results have shown that. But despite not being in the right frame of mind or at the top of my game, I have still managed to lose each week.

This week I weighed in at 99kgs, a loss of 1.5kg on last week. I didn't manage to get my measurements this morning, the only thing I took in was that I made it under that 100kg and reached my 1st goal :o)

My next goal on this journey of mine is to reach a loss of 10kg. Wow, only 4kg to go and I have lost 10kg. I need to think of a nice little reward for myself...

Hope you all doing well!!

* I am so unbelievably proud of my amazing daughters, and have been shown I need to have more faith in my parenting and the decisions I make for my girls

* I am loving the weather today and hope this is the start of more sunny days to come :o)

Slimming down Sunday

This week hasn't been near as successful as I was hoping. I was planning on cracking the 100kg this week, being under 100kg and never ever looking back. But it wasn't to be. I was sure that if I didn't make this goal I would be devastated and it would probably be enough to throw in the towel!

But to tell you the truth, it just made me pissed! Pissed at myself, because seriously this program works and any disappointing results are due to something I have or haven't done!

This last week I was down, I had my monthlies and it was wet and miserable weather.... and I let each and everyone of these things beat me in some way or another.

I let the weather be excuse enough not to go out walking and let myself lay curled up on the couch feeling sorry for myself. I let my usual monthly cravings curb my eating. No, I didn't give in and buy a chocolate bar or buy take out like I normally would. But because I couldn't eat what I wanted I didn't eat much at all - for this program to work you need to eat your portions every 3 hours ATLEAST 5 times. Skipping these meals and snacks doesn't allow the program to work, I know this and still I didn't stick to it.

This week I need to:

* Keep active - atleast 10000 steps per day
* Stick to the program and eat my scheduled portions
* Drink more water

The results of the week that was:

Weight - 100.5kg = a loss of 1kg

I wasn't planning on recording my measurements every week, but found a little comfort in them this week:

Thigh - 67cm = a loss of 2cm
Hips - 116cm
Waist - 105cm = 1.5cm reduction
Chest - 110.5 = 1.5cm reduction
Biceps - 41cm

So whilst I am disappointed and kicking my but right now, it was still a loss and I know where I went wrong and that I can do better. This week I will make it under the 100kg mark!!

Wishing you all well in your weight loss journeys,

Things I Know - Brought to us by Yay for Home...

♡•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•♡ Happy Friday ♡•*´¨`*•.¸¸.•*´¨`*•♡

It's here, it's here!! It's Friday!! And that means..... time to link up with Yay for Home for Things I know!! And then you need to go Flog it over at Where's My Glow for FYBF!!

This is what I know this week..... Moodi Mumma warning, not so upbeat and positive today!!

* I am soooo friggin glad it's Friday!!

* Dogwatch + Menstration + No carbs (stinkin diet) = Very Moodi Mumma!!!!

* I am not sure I would have made it through one more sleep deprived night of dogwatch, I may have had to be institutionalized!!

* Having your Hubby home and sleeping beside you is a blessing for so many reasons... the main one right now being I will not have to share my bed with 3 little people tonight!!

* Running on empty and trying to be sympathetic to Loo and her whining today is not really working out for me!

* I am counting down until Loo's nap time so I can go have one myself.....zzzz

Happy Friday!!

Inspiration in a song

Do you find songs are powerful? That a song can take you back in time, can remind you of a person, a place or a feeling? Songs are like this for me, sometimes this can be a bad thing, but most of the time it's something I love.

At the moment there is a song that is really speaking to me, sending me a message my heart and soul need to hear and want so badly to follow. This song is 'Today is your day' by Shania Twang.... I can hear the groans as I type this. But if you can indulge me and look past the fact that it's Shania (who I grew up with) or that it's country music, I hope this song speaks to you too. Instead of turning off the Shania or Country haters by putting a video of the clip on I have decided to just post the lyrics...

You got what it takes you can win?

You got what it takes you can win,
Today is your day to begin.
Don't give up here, don't you quit.
The moment is now, this is it
Know that you can then you will
Get to the top of the hill
Part of the fun is the climb
You just gotta make up your mind

That today is your day
And nothing can stand in your way
Today is your day
Everything's goin' your way
Today (you can do it)
Today (c'mon c'mon)
Today (c'mon do it)
Today

When somebody throws sticks and stones
All they can break are your bones
And life's gonna kick you around
Then kick you again when you're down

But today is your day
And nothing can stand in your way
Today is your day
Everything's goin' your way
Today (c'mon do it now)
Today
Today
Today mmmm

 life's gonna kick you
,its gonna kick you around,
its gonna kick you down

Brush yourself off no regrets
This is as good as it gets
Don't expect more or less
Just go out and give it your best (give it your best)

Today is your day
And nothing can stand in your way
Today is your day
Everything's goin' your way
Today
Today ( I said today is your day)
Today Today I said today Today
Today is your day mmmmm

Slimming down Sunday

Yesterday was the 1 week mark of my journey into health, fitness, weight loss and happiness. Woodi & I started  the Body trim program last Saturday and made a record of our weight and measurements, I posted mine here.

I've mentioned before that I am an emotional eater, I eat through depression, stress and anxiety. While some people find it difficult to eat during trying times... I stuff my face! I've had an extremely difficult, drama filled week and am so proud to say I have not faltered, not once :o) This for me is probably my biggest accomplishment of the week!

I also made my 1st attempt at the C25K, which I was told about by the lovely Naomi from Seven Cherubs. It is aimed at getting you from the Couch to running 5km in 9 weeks. I wasn't completely successful in my attempt - only managing to run 3 of the run sections, but I did walk the rest. So whilst I didn't do as well as I hoped I'm proud I gave it a shot and have been encouraged to keep trying because it will only get easier and I will only get better :o)

So the results of the week that was....

Weight  -   101.5kg = a loss of 3.5kg
Thigh     -   69cm = an increase of 4cm?
Not sure if this was a result of muscle increase from running/walking?
Hips      - 116cm = a reduction of 2cm
Waist    - 106.5cm = a reduction of 3.5cm
Chest     - 112cm = a reduction of 5cm
Biceps    - 41cm = a reduction of 1cm

Overall I am really pleased with the results, and I am looking forward to another successful week to come. I have got a new battery for my pedometer so i will be able to ensure I am achieving my 10000 steps a day, which is what helps the Bodytrim program really work.

I wish all of you on this journey a successful week of weight loss!!

Grateful for..... brought to us by Maxabella loves

Another wonderful day, another link up I love!! It's time for Maxabella loves Grateful for :o)

One thing about being grateful, is the more you think about it, the more you have to be grateful for! So many simple things we take for granted in our everyday lives are a blessing that so many others are not fortunate enough to have. Once you get started it is so easy and lovely to see the many little things you have to be thankful for and that little bit easier to overlook the things in our life that trouble us :o)

This week I am Grateful for:

* Every time my "Y" key works when typing :o)

* Every time I spot my "Y" key hasn't worked before submitting a post or hitting enter on a tweet etc!

* Strong will, setting a goal for myself and sticking to it thus far!

* People who know there are two sides of every story and things should never be taken by face value...Thank you!!

* The way Woodi and I stick together and work through our difficult times and always find a way to pull through. I couldn't ask for a better partner in life, love you babe xoxo

* My amazingly loving family - I know I keep going here, but I will never be able to say Thank you enough for the people I am blessed to have in my life

* The wonderful, amazing, strong, caring and supportive ladies I have had the pleasure of getting to know through my blog, their blogs & photos and chatting to

* That the weekend is here..... LOVE m weekends with all my little famil home together xox <<< a typical sentence with my temperamental "Y" key!!

What are you grateful for?

Some things can't continue..

the way they are because they are unhealthy and they hurt too much. Sometimes it's too hard to keep smiling and pretending everything is ok and wonderful in a relationship, because it isn't. Sometimes that one last straw that seems so minute and meaningless or silly to others is the one that makes the load too heavy to bare.

I'm not ok, I'm hurting and I'm not the kind of person to end a friendship over one silly comment. But I am the person who gives my all to a person, too much to a person and so I guess it's out there to be used, abused and taken advantage of :o(

I hope that the slander will not lose me my online community, but I had to cut the ties to find some inner peace

Slimming down Sunday

Woodi and I have gone from slim, fit and fabulous over the years to severely overweight, unfit and feeling pretty lousy. I blame myself really, I feel like I have let us down and Woodi came for the ride in support and sympathy.
I eat my emotions, my anxiety, depression, stress is fed chocolate, biscuits, cake, any junk really in an attempt to make it all go away, to feel better. But I know it only makes me feel worse, fatter, unhealthier and guilty..... which of course only leads to more emotional eating.
Woodi in his attempt to be a good and supportive husband and make his (not so) little Mrs happy gives in to my ever whim and request for a little something to make me feel better after a hard day. His attempt to help me is only making me worse, and I don't at all blame him cos I wouldn't wanna face me coming home empty handed!!

So we are once again attempting to do something about it. We started Body Trim yesterday, we have tried it before but unfortunately for me a "bump" in the road is met with hands thrown in the air and a declaration of failure! The thing is we know this program works! Our brother in law lost 30kg in under 6 months, this was over a year ago and he is still looking fabulous and feeling even better!

So I thought I would put it out there for all (who are interested) to see, to spur myself on and give myself another reason to do well. Cos this time the world knows I am trying and will know if I give up on myself and will hopefully urge and encourage me not to. I find my online community so supportive and inspiring and am hoping it will make a big difference this time around.

Mostly I am doing this for myself, for my children, for a long,  healthy and happy future together.

So each Sunday I will post my figures and results of the week that was, I will be brutally honest... starting NOW.

This is really hard to put out there, but I feel I need to...

I weighed and measured myself and the crushing results were:

Weight - 105kg :o(
Height - 168cm
Thigh - 65cm
Hips - 118cm
Waist - 110cm
Chest - 117cm
Biceps - 42cm More like tuck shop's than biceps :o(

The before

Well embarrassing and very hard to put out there, but it can only get better from here.... right?

Things I Know - Brought to us by Yay for Home...

I know:

* Bunking all my girls together in one room, removing all toys and putting them into a "toy room" has been a huge success and has helped to restore some serenity to our home and sanity to me!

* Owning our own home seems like a whole life time away and being addicted to all these home renovation and interior design shows is just torture!!

* My Gypsy blood has been boiling and I have once again been dreaming of far away places, country towns and being closer to my QLD family.

* I have noticed the above seems to occur during or just after a bout of the blues.

* Every time I think I couldn't possibly love Woodi any more than I do, my heart and our relationship proves me wrong - and I like it <3

What do you know? Link up with Yay for home and let us know :)

Easy peasy quiche recipe!

I never used to eat quiche, I always thought it rubbery and tasteless.... I should probably disclose that this low impression of quiche probably would have been based on one try back as a kid. I was pick and very un-adventurous when it came to food.

Getting to the point...

Back when the twins were in pre-school one of the Mums had us over for a lunch, she had baked a quiche, inwardly I was groaning. BUT being the polite girl my Mumma raised I was very enthusiastic about the beautiful cooking she had done for my girls and I. I was told the quiche is very easy to make and she sent me the recipe. However not being a quiche eater I didn't even own a quiche dish and couldn't cook one for my eagerly awaiting hubby!

With the recent stint of Tupperware parties I purchased a Flan Form and was able to make the quiche. True to my friends word it was quick and easy to make and Woodi really enjoyed it. So I thought I would share the recipe with you all.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1/2 cup Self Raising flour
  • 4 x rashers bacon chopped
  • 1/2 can creamed corn
Method:
Pre-heat oven to 220 degrees. Celsius Fry bacon and onion together in a pan. Mix dry ingredients together then add melted butter. Beat eggs and milk together then add to the dry ingredients and mix. Pour mix into a quiche tray and bake for 30 mins  or until golden.

Enjoy!!
